Health Challenges are Multi-Faced Now: Think Systems

 

Samuel Majalija, PhD, Senior Lecturer College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-Security

 The convergence of humans with wild animals, domestic animals and the eco-system requires employment of a system approach to managing today’s health challenges and emergencies.  The One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) initiative is working in the region to facilitate the building of capacity towards this approach. The initiative brings together academic institutions of higher learning and civil society organisations from different disciplines to promote the One Health concept and approach to dealing with emergences.
