RCQHC

The Regional Centre for Quality of Health Care was established to provide leadership in building capacity to improve quality of health care by promoting better practices trough networking, strategic partnerships and education.

In 2004/2005, the RCQHC lived up to its mission of providing leadership in building regional capacity to improve quality of health care by promoting better practices through networking, strategic partnerships and education. The centres specific activities include short courses on pertinent topics, a post-graduate diploma course in Quality of Health Care and acting as a resource centre for providing up-to-date information on critical regional priorities.

Teaching and Training at the Regional Centre for Quality of Health Care

The centre's training is given to middle and senior level Health Managers for example District Directors of Health Services, heads of Units and programmes.

Through the RCQHC, MakSPH has had a number of partnerships as evidenced below:

  • Uganda is the host country for three networks for Malaria in Pregnancy in East and Southern Africa (MIPESA)
  • Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Network
  • Africa Network for Care for Children Infected and Affected
  • A network for the production of a handbook on Paediatric AIDS in Africa (This network brings together countries to learn how to set up and run paediatric AIDS clinics in 12 countries).
